Tom Savell Wins at New Music Awards

2008 was an exciting, event-filled year for the Tom band, which saw two hit songs, a summer tour, another successful Decemberchild Benefit Concert, and numerous other shows. What better way to cap it off than with a party and some recognition in Hollywood at the 2008 New Music Awards show on November 22. Tom was nominated for three categories by New Music Weekly, who puts on the annual New Music Awards: Top 40 Breakthrough Artist of the Year, Adult Contemporary New Artist of the Year, and College Breakthrough Artist of the Year.  This year’s Decemberchild Benefit Concert on Nov 15, 2008 was another success, as the generous donations of all those who attended went to the Valley Churches United Missions. Considering the challenging economic climate that everyone’s been enduring over the last few months, the donations were much more meaningful.

8/16/2008: The Tom Savell Band Tour was a success!  After spending 3 weeks on the road, the band was really clicking.  Tom and the band played 16 shows in 19 days through northern California, Oregon, and Washington.  For a day-by-day report and photos, see the Fall issue of Still Fumin' News on stillfumin.com.

3/10/2008: So Deep Within You, The song reached #1 on the chart for the week ending February 22, 2008 (see chart below) . “We couldn't be happier,” says producer Jacob Save. The song has held the #1 position for three weeks as of press time. Others in the Top 10 behind Savell include Linkin Park, Timbaland, Duran Duran, Natasha Bedingfield, Taylor Swift, Celine Dion, and more.

And now, Tom's second single Simple Game is starting to climb the charts, going as high as #58 before settling at #61 for the week ending March 7. With two songs charting on radio at the same time, Still Fumin' Records is rocking like never before. And Tom says “When I look at the chart, it's almost surreal to see my name at the top.”
